‘I’m English, originally a Shropshire lass, but I have been living in Northern Ireland for twenty years having come over here straight after university,’ explains Amy.‘ My family are made up of artists, designers and interior decorators, so I guess it’s in my blood to be creative! Each one of her cushions are carefully designed and then skilfully hand sewn. ‘I use lots of striking pinks and florals coupled with soft velvets and usually finished off with my signature trims,’ she says.

‘It might sound very general, but my biggest achievement is getting my business up and running! Five years ago I would never have believed it was possible or that I was capable enough, and every time I sell cushions or people come up to me and tell me they love my work it just confirms that I’ve done it. Having said that, featuring on the cover of Ireland’s Homes Interiors and Living Magazine in the spring was a very proud moment!’ Amy aims to have two different ranges in the near future, one using her own fabric, aiming to be more exclusive, and another which will consist of simple designs that are accessible to everyone. ‘Over the next few years I hope to have my cushions stocked with stores and designers all over the UK!’ Amy says. amyscottdesign.co.uk
