I need some pattern inspiration, What do you suggest? Walls and Floors’ tagged Instagram feed is a great place to start. Our customers have been using patterned tiles in plenty of creative configurations, not only using them in feature flooring, but also in fireplaces, splashbacks and tiled rugs alongside mixed materials. For instance, the everpopular ceramic Black Scintilla tiles can be used to create a chic star formation. It’s been such a big hit, it’s now available in three new colours for an on-trend twist on the classic monochrome design. What tiles should I choose for a spacious modern kitchen? Take inspiration from Good Homes’ roomsets at 2018’s Ideal Home Show and go for a mix of dark orients paired with luxe metallics for a glam take on the industrial look. Try our large-format Metalen Bronze floor tiles, pictured, £39.95 per sqm, which can be used outside to extend your living space, too.

What are your favourite tiles at the moment? Millennial pink was centre stage at Milan Design Week this year, and I have fallen in love with this unlikely neutral hue. Throughout 2018, I’m seeing more pairings with luxury materials and sleek finishes to provide a quirky take on interiors – especially in the bathroom. So embrace the blush: a gentle pink shade can be subdued to complement a neutral colour palette, or given vibrancy when placed in contrast with intense pigments such as black.

What tile look do you predict will be trending next year? I’m confident that quartz and marble will continue to be opulent classics throughout home interiors, and a modern twist on traditional terrazzo is going to be big news. It lends itself to both contemporary and classic schemes, mainly because of the marble content, as the flecks make it adaptable to almost any colour palette. It also looks particularly stylish in minimal spaces – and not just on the floors. A rise of luxury metallic accessories will let you glamorise terrazzo, however, and for an edgier look, place it against more industrialised finishes such as timber, brick or concrete for an elegant contrast.
